Moodboard
The moodboard served as a starting point to determine the theme of the website. It is a collection of images and designs that represent chic, subtle, Indian and crafty tones.

Colours
Colour sets the mood of brand expression. Emotions are strong and can influence how people make decisions. Mela aims to cultivate strong emotional connections with its customers. Therefore, the colour palette chosen is soft yet expresses what the brand wants to achieve. Comforting, earthy tones represent the idea of Mela and, at the same time, convey luxury.
Typography
Fahkwang font is chosen for the Hero and H1 text in the design. Opens Sans Hebrew is chosen as the font for the body for its easy legibility and friendly appearance.
Logo Design
Mela is a Sanskrit word meaning ‘festival’. The logo, in its entirety, reiterates the feeling of a festival and celebration of the artisans who put together the products. The oak leaves are symbolic of strength, honour, and add ornamental value. The hands represent the skilled handicraft work of the artisans. Together, they speak about the high-quality organic products on the website.
